Quality Control Process

Quality is not an afterthought at YourSteel — it’s built into every step of our production process. Our 3-stage quality control system ensures that every product meets or exceeds your expectations.

Stage 1: Raw Material Inspection

Before production even begins, every batch of raw material undergoes thorough testing:

• Material Certification Verification — Cross-checking mill certificates against our specifications
• Spectrometer Analysis — Verifying chemical composition meets grade standards
• Surface Inspection — Checking for defects, cracks, and surface irregularities
• Dimension Check — Verifying thickness, width, and diameter tolerances
• Hardness Testing — Confirming material hardness is within specification

Rejected materials are immediately segregated and returned to the supplier — never enter production.

Stage 2: In-Process Quality Control

During production, our QC team monitors every critical step:

• First-piece Inspection — Verifying setup before full production run
• In-line Dimensional Checks — Continuous monitoring of thickness, width, length, and diameter
• Surface Quality Monitoring — Visual inspection at key processing stages
• Process Parameter Verification — Ensuring temperature, speed, and pressure are within range
• Non-destructive Testing (NDT) — Ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing for pipes

Stage 3: Final Inspection & Testing

Before shipment, every batch undergoes comprehensive final testing:

Mechanical Testing

• Tensile strength test
• Yield strength test
• Elongation test
• Hardness test (Rockwell / Brinell / Vickers)
• Bend test (for sheets and pipes)
• Flattening test (for pipes)

Chemical Analysis

• Full spectral analysis of all key elements
• Comparison against ASTM / EN / JIS standards
• Mill Test Certificate (MTC) preparation

Dimensional & Visual Inspection

• Full dimensional verification
• Surface quality final check
• Packaging and marking inspection
• Quantity and weight verification

Our QC Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art testing equipment:

• Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) — for precise chemical composition analysis
• Universal Tensile Testing Machine — up to 1000 kN capacity
• Hardness Testers — Rockwell, Brinell, and Vickers
• Ultrasonic Flaw Detector — for internal defect detection
• Eddy Current Tester — for surface and subsurface defect detection
• Coating Thickness Gauge — for galvanized products

Third-Party Inspection

We work with all major third-party inspection agencies:

• SGS
• Bureau Veritas (BV)
• TÜV SÜD
• Lloyd’s Register
• DNV GL

Client-supervised inspection is always welcome. We can arrange for TPI at any stage of production upon request.
